WhyteSpyder wins chamber recognition

WhyteSpyder Inc. received the 2015 WalStreet Chamber Member of the Year Award from Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce for its contributions to the chamber community. The award was presented during the chamber's annual dinner on Jan. 28.

WhyteSpyder did a variety of work for the chamber in 2015, including redesigning the chamber's website, making it more accessible and easy to understand and hosting a website launch party.

WhyteSpyder is based in Fayetteville and consists of two business units: full-service, integrated content marketing and a unit that combines marketing and merchandising to satisfy the demands of shoppers.

Small Business Week nominees sought

The Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for small businesses to be honored during the chamber's second annual Small Business Week to be held May 1-7.

Small-business success stories can be nominated in the following categories: Small Business Person of the Year, Woman-Owned Business of the Year, Small Business Exporter of the Year and Emerging Small Business Person.

The online nomination form can be found on the chamber's website at www.bbvchamber.com under the "Doing Business Tab." Nominations are accepted until March 18.

Startup accelerator accepting sign-ups

The VC FinTech Accelerator is accepting applications for its global financial technology accelerator summer program. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. March 31.

The program works with early-stage companies in core banking, payments, mobile, and fraud and security matters. It also has the potential to partner with startups leveraging emerging technologies like cognitive computing, neural networks and blockchain innovating in financial services.

The VC FinTech Accelerator is a 15-week program designed to accelerate the growth of early stage startups. The program will admit up to 10 leading startups in the financial services sector.

Through a new fund established and directed by The Venture Center, portfolio companies will receive an initial $50,000 investment. Companies are eligible to pitch for up to $100,000 to $300,000 additional investment for selected winners at the end of the program.
