Bail has been set at $25,000 each for two Saline County residents arrested after drugs were found in the system of a 7-month-old baby.

Jennifer Edwards, 35, and Kevin Manson, 47, both of Alexander, were arrested Friday after the child was taken to the hospital Tuesday. They appeared Monday by video from jail for a court appearance in Saline County District Court.

Both were ordered in court to have no contact with the child, unless approved by the state Department of Human Services. The 7-month-old child is now in the care of the department, ArkansasOnline previously reported.

While executing a search warrant, authorities found drugs and drug paraphernalia at their home on Puckett Road.

As of Friday, the baby remained hospitalized. The child's exact condition was unclear as of Monday afternoon.

Edwards and Manson face charges of introducing a controlled substance into the body of another and endangering the welfare of a minor, records show.

Their next court appearance is scheduled for April 12 in Saline County District Court, according to the clerk's office.
