3 die in vehicle crashes in state

A Bismarck woman was killed and a man was injured Thursday in a single-vehicle crash on Arkansas 7 south of the Hot Spring County community, Arkansas State Police reported.

A 2015 Jeep Patriot was travelling north on the state highway at 5:18 p.m. when it left the road, hit a utility pole and overturned, the report said. Venessa Odell, 55, a passenger in the Jeep, died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle, Chris Odell, 50, was injured in the crash and taken Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. His condition was not listed in the report.

It was misting and roads were wet at the time of the crash.

State police reported two people died Tuesday and Wednesday in separate crashes in White County.

A McRae man was killed and a Searcy woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday, state police reported.

Christopher Williams, 32, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet north on Blue Hole Road at 10:18 p.m. north of Beebe, and the report said he did not stop at a stop sign. The Chevrolet traveled into the path of a 2006 Nissan headed east on an Arkansas 267 spur.

Williams was killed in the crash. The driver of the Nissan, Emily Wix, 24, of Searcy, was injured and taken to Unity Health in Searcy.

A Searcy woman was killed in a crash there Wednesday shortly before 7 a.m., according to a state police report.

Georgeanna Childers, 19, was driving a 2014 Taotao scooter out of a McDonald's parking lot on Main Street to head north on U.S. 67B. A 2012 Kenworth truck was coming to a stop at the intersection of U.S. 67B. The scooter did not yield to the truck and was hit, the report said.

Childers was taken to Unity Health in Searcy and later died. The report did not name the driver of the truck nor indicate whether that person was injured.

Weather was clear and roads were dry at the time of both of the crashes in White County.
