Firefighters rescue 2 men from Arkansas River after kayak overturns

Police and firefighters rescued two men who overturned a kayak in the Arkansas River on Saturday, a spokesman for the Little Rock Fire Department said.

Authorities responded to the call just past noon and delivered the two men to safety at a boat ramp at Burns Park in North Little Rock, spokesman Edwin Woolf said.

Woolf said the two men did not appear to have visible injuries but were treated by Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services workers at the scene.

Their kayak has not yet been found as of Saturday evening, he said.
