Springdale started the fourth quarter with three 3-pointers to forge a lead and went on to a 55-48 victory over Rogers Heritage.

Springdale coach Jeremy Price said his team made good second-half adjustments, but the biggest was making some 3-point shots late.

"When the ball goes in the hole from beyond the arc, it loosens everybody up," Price said."(Ishine McFarlane) had a big first half and their focus was probably to take something away from him and we made the right pass and we were ready to catch and shoot and they went in for us."

The Bulldogs (10-3, 1-0 7A-West) put together a 10-3 run spurred by Jack Lindsey's deep 3-pointer, the fourth of the quarter, from the corner for a 52-42 advantage with a minute left.

Ishine MacFarlane, a 6-foot-5 senior, scored a team-high 21 points, all the first three quarters. But Lindsey added nine, all on three pointers.

Heritage (8-6, 0-1) led 33-32 after three quarters, but managed just one field goal during a three-minute stretch late that proved to be crucial.

Lexus Hobbs led all scorers with 22 points. He was the War Eagles' lone player in double figures.

Senior Maya Hood scored 19 points off the bench and helped the Lady Bulldogs dominate the boards and pull away for the easy win.

Springdale (8-5, 1-0) struggled early to finish around the basket and 5-11 senior Ryann Goodsell got in early foul trouble, but Hood picked up the slack. The 5-11 senior scored 11 first-half points to help Springdale to a 34-21 halftime advantage.

Teammate Chasidee Owens got going in the second half, scoring 10 of her 19 to tie for team honors to help the Lady Bulldogs pull away.

Springdale coach Heather Hunsucker said she's been able to establish some good depth during the nonconference part of the schedule and it paid off big.

"One of the things I feel better about now is depth," Hunsucker said. "I believe if Goodsell comes offf the bench or Desiree Mack comes off the bench we have some depth in that spot. What I thought really lifted us is our defense. I thought our defense really generated offense for us tonight.

"I think think the depth and our height really came into play in the third and fourth quarter."

Amber Turner led three Heritage players in double figures with 14 points, while Hailey Tiles and Brooke Menke chipped in 10 each for the Lady War Eagles (5-9, 0-1).
