County hires chief of communications

Pulaski County has hired a communications director to fill a position that County Judge Barry Hyde asked the Quorum Court to create in July.

Cozetta Jones, formerly communications director and lobbyist for the Arkansas State Employees Association, started Dec. 28.

The Quorum Court approved creating the communications director position with an annual cost to the county of $61,455, including benefits.

Jones has previously worked in communications with the Arkansas Minority Health Commission and in writing and editing with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and received a master's degree in communications management from Webster University in 2010.
