A Mississippi man has been arrested on two felony drug charges after Conway police discovered more than 1 pound of marijuana during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.

Rico Jernigan, 26, of Tupelo, Miss., was pulled over about 12:25 p.m. on Interstate 40, about 1 mile north of the Oak Street exit in Conway, for following too close, police said. After Jernigan was stopped, authorities said they conducted a search of his vehicle with the help of a police dog.

Inside the vehicle, "high-grade marijuana with a street value of about $12,000" and a handgun were found, according to police.

Additional information regarding Jernigan's arrest was not immediately available Tuesday.
