Sue Owens, Economics Arkansas executive director, was elected to serve as the 2016 president of the National Association of Economic Educators.

EDUCATION

Dr. Brenda Martin, chairman of the Department of Human Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, has been appointed to the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation Volunteer Corps as a site visitor.

Dr. Jimmy Ishee, dean of the University of Central Arkansas College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, has been designated a 2016 Fellow of the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Mainstream Technologies announced the hiring of Brandon Ryan to its software development unit.

LEGAL

Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull announced R. Ryan Younger has been named a member of the firm.

Lesley Freeman Burleson joined the Tripcony, May and Associates law firm.

MARKETING

Heidi Damron joined CJRW as ad coordinator in the Travel and Tourism Division of the Little Rock office. CJRW has expanded its research and data analysis capabilities and named Brian Kratkiewicz as director of media and innovation, and Jill Joslin as director of account services.

MEDICAL

Dr. Daniel K. Brown joined CHI St. Vincent’s Multi-Specialty Clinic-North in Sherwood.

Arkansas Pharmacists Association selected chief operating officer Scott Pace as APA’s executive vice president and chief executive officer.

Ellyn Matthews and Angela Green, faculty members in the College of Nursing at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, were inducted as fellows to the American Academy of Nursing.

NONPROFIT

Goodwill Industries of Arkansas announced the officers and board of directors for the 2016-2017 year. The officers are Mitch Chandler, chairman; Ted Darragh III, vice chairman; Sarah Day, secretary; Tony Thomas, treasurer; Bradley Walker, past chairman; and Brian Itzkowitz, president and chief executive officer. Fred M. Perkins III and Troy Wells joined the board of directors.

RETAIL

Bourbon & Boots announced the hiring of Megan Moores to the merchandising team and Katelyn Casper who will join the company’s social engagement team.
