North Little Rock student seen blowing smoke at teacher charged with harassment

A North Little Rock student who blew cigar smoke in his teacher's face during an argument in December now faces a charge of harassment, police said Monday.

The student, Christopher Dunn, 18, refused a request Dec. 14 from the teacher that he sit in the hallway to take his exam, ArkansasOnline previously reported.

As the teacher looked away to write Dunn up for his actions, Dunn "lit a cigar and was taking a drag off of it" and eventually walked up to the teacher from his seat, according to a police report.

A 10-second video of the argument was uploaded to YouTube shortly after and has since been viewed more than 430,000 times.

Sgt. Brian Dedrick with the North Little Rock Police Department said a warrant for Dunn's arrest was served Monday morning on the misdemeanor charge of harassment.

Late last month, the North Little Rock School District declined to comment to ArkansasOnline regarding the specific details of Dunn's punishment.

"The student will be disciplined according to district policy," Micheal Stone, district director of student services, said in an email.

Additional information regarding Dunn's arrest was not immediately available Monday afternoon.
