Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas running backs coach Jemal Singleton and linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves made an in-home visit with defensive lineman Chris Daniels Monday night.

Oklahoma Coach Bob Stoops and defensive line coach Diron Reynolds were the first to visit the Daniels followed by Arkansas and then Ole Miss.

Daniels, who attends Euless (Texas) Trinity, was born in Little Rock and has numerous family members in the state. He's an Oklahoma commitment.

One of the topics Singleton and Hargreaves discussed was the advantages of getting a degree at Arkansas and the business opportunities in the state after football. That resonated with Daniels and his parents.

Daniels will decide if he wants to make an official visit to Arkansas instead of Texas A&M for his last trip. Coach Bret Bielema will make an in-home visit with the Daniels next week.

There are reports that linebacker Giovanni LaFrance, 6-1, 239, 4.80 of St Augustine High School in New Orleans will visit Utah instead of Arkansas this weekend.

Nothing certain, but I'm hearing that might not be the case. St. Augustine Coach Al Jones said he hasn't talked to LaFrance today and doesn't know of his plans.

On Sunday, LaFrance said Coach Bret Bielema and receivers coach Michael Smith were making an in-home visit on Tuesday.

Defensive coordinator Robb Smith and receivers coach Michael Smith are expected to visit defensive line commitment Briston Guidry of Metairie (La.) Rummel on Wednesday.

Coach Bret Bielema and tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. made an in-home visit with defensive line commitment Austin Capps on Monday.

Pulaski Robinson junior athlete Koilan Jackson and sophomore athlete Nathan Page have been invited to the Nike The Opening Dallas Regional in the spring.

Junior college offensive tackle Paul Ramirez, 6-7, 295 pounds, of San Bernardino Valley College in California, said Arkansas offensive line coach Kurt Anderson will visit him Wednesday morning.

Running backs coach Jemal Singleton and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings will visit running back commitment Devwah Whaley of Beaumont, (Texas) Central again this week.

6:16 update

Linebacker Giovanni LaFrance, 6-1, 239, 4.80 of St Augustine High School in New Orleans received an offer from Arkansas today and will now visit the Hogs this weekend.

Tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. will watch Hermitage junior athlete Monta Thomas play basketball tonight. Thomas is one of the top 2017 prospects in the state.
