— A movie has been delayed that depicts the life of former Arkansas football player Brandon Burlsworth.

The release for Greater was scheduled for Jan. 29, but has been postponed until this summer, according to the film's production company. Producers hope to expand the number of theaters that will carry the film.

"We know people are excited to see our movie," said Brian Reindl, producer of the film. "We've gotten such a positive response from screening audiences, churches and theater owners that we feel like we would be doing the movie a disservice by not waiting and releasing it when more screens are available.

"We hope our friends and fans who have eagerly anticipated the release will be patient and help us continue to spread the word about the film."

The movie will feature actors Christopher Severio as Brandon Burlsworth and Neal McDonough as Marty Burlsworth.

Scenes for the film were shot at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville and War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Brandon Burlsworth was a walk-on at Arkansas before becoming an all-American in his senior season 1998. He was killed in a car accident in April 1999 just 11 days after being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

The Burlsworth Trophy is given annually to college football's best player who began his career as a walk-on.
