Hog commit visit updates and other tidbits

Arkansas receiver commitment Kofi Boateng was accompanied by his parents on his official visit.

Boateng, 6-1, 180, 4.6 Arlington, (Texas) Lamar was hosted by tight end Anthony Antwine and was given a little bit more insight on what it is to be a Razorback.

He spent time with Brandon Jones and Kristian Fulton and told them how they could change the culture.

Boateng liked the commitment of linebacker Giovanni LaFrance and said we're looking for more on national signing day.

Offensive line commitment Jake Heinrich, 6-4, 290 5.3 of Urbandale, Iowa spent time with offensive linemen Frank Ragnow and Dan Skipper.

He spent more time with offensive line coach Kurt Anderson and is looking forward to growing as a player and as a man under his supervision. The highlight of the trip was spending about 45 minutes with strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert. He and his parents plan to attend the spring game.

Defensive line commitment Briston Guidry, 6-3, 284, 4.90 of Metairie (La.) Rummel was hosted by cornerback Henre' Toliver,who is a Rummel graduate.

He has cancelled the mid-week Oklahoma visit, but will still take a visit to Arizona State next weekend. He said he's 100 percent solid to the Hogs and the fans have nothing to worry about.

Guidry said defensive line coach Rory Segrest staying put was a big relief.

Linebacker commitment De'jon Harris, 6-1, 230 4.7 of Marrero, (La.) John Ehret said he's still visiting Alabama next weekend but said he's as solid as he can be. He was glad to see Giovanni commit and thinks the Hogs will get Kristian Fulton.

Harris was hosted by defensive end Tevin Beanum and cornerback D.J. Dean.

Defensive end target Allen Cater, 6-5, 240 pounds, 4.8 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Kennesaw (Ga.) Mount Paran Christian said he will not host any coaches for in-home visits so he can have a week to make a clear decision. He's down to Arkansas and North Carolina.

As noted in Sunday tidbits, Arkansas defensive line target Chris Daniels of Euless, (Texas) Trinity will host Coach Bret Bielema, defensive line coach Rory Segrest and running backs coach Jemal Singleton for an in-home visit around 6 pm Monday.

Commitment T.J. Hammonds, 5-11, 192, 4.42 of Pulaski Robinson said Coach Bret Bielema and offensive coordinator Dan Enos are expected to visit his school and make an in-home on Wednesday.

9:05 update

As reported earlier today, cornerback Joseph Putu, 6-2, 195, 4.37 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of North Dakota State College of Science received a scholarship offer from defensive coordinator Robb Smith on Thursday. He plans to make an official visit to Fayetteville.

Texas A&M told him they were going to offer and were hoping to bump Arkansas for this weekend, but he said he's visiting Fayetteville.

It looks like UCLA is about to offer too. He just got back home from UAB and will visit Toledo on Monday.

Putu said he believes Coach Bret Bielema will visit him on Thursday.

Junior quarterback Jacob Free, 6-5, 200, 4.7 of Brantley, Alabama visited Arkansas and spent about two hours with offensive coordinator Dan Enos on Saturday before heading to Oklahoma State for a visit. He said Enos plans to come watch him throw in the spring.

He has offers from Louisville, UAB and Troy.
