Arkansas linebacker commitment De’jon Harris enjoyed his official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend and seeing friend and linebacker Giovanni LaFrance committing to the Hogs.

He’s also hopeful highly regarded cornerback Kristian Fulton of Metairie (La.) Rummel jumps on board.

“I think it went well,” Harris said. “We got Giovanni on board and we knew we was going to get him, but I think we can pull Kristian off, too.”

Harris, 6-1, 230 4.7 of Marrero, (La.) John Ehret received an offer from Alabama over a month ago and plans to visit the Crimson Tide this weekend.

“I am still going to visit there, but I will be glad when this is all done with,” Harris said. “I’m as solid as I can be.”

He rushed for 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns to help Ehret to a 12-3 record and their first trip to the Class 5A state championship game in 30 years.

He also had 11 catches for 254 yards and 5 touchdowns. He passed for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 80 tackles and 7 sacks.

Harris, who’s rated the No. 30 inside linebacker in the nation by ESPN, was hosted by defensive end Tevin Beanum and cornerback D.J. Dean.

“It went well meeting future teammates and they kind of took me around the town and showed me it,” Harris said. “We hung out a lot together and it was very fun.”

He’s looking forward to competing for playing time next season.

“On my visit, they were talking about how you have to come in and do the right thing,” Harris said. “I know that I will come in and do the right thing from day one so I should have a shot.”

Harris’ parents enjoyed themselves on the trip.

“They really liked it out here,” Harris said. “They didn’t get a chance to see everything when we came out here the first time, but both my mother and my father and my aunties really enjoyed themselves.”
