Deputies: Woman admits shooting

A 19-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday after she admitted shooting and robbing her boyfriend at his home, according to a police report.

A Pulaski County sheriff's deputy said Samantha Renee Nelson, 19, of Roland shot Josh Lundsford, 28, of Roland in the thigh during a struggle over a firearm.

Lundsford told deputies that Nelson, his "on and off" girlfriend, visited him at his home on Sunday, but he told her to leave, the report said. He said Nelson became irate and pulled out a black pistol, yelling that she was going to shoot him.

The couple fought over the gun, and Nelson fired one shot that struck Lundsford in the right leg, the report stated.

Nelson admitted she tried to take 10.5 grams of methamphetamine from Lundsford at gunpoint, an arrest report said.

Nelson was charged with aggravated robbery, first-degree battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

Nelson was being held at the Pulaski County jail Sunday night without bail , according to the jail's website.

Lundsford was treated at the scene and transported via ambulance to a local hospital, the report stated.
