A Bald Knob man was killed in a single-car wreck Monday night while driving around a downhill curve on U.S. 167 in White County, state police said.
An Arkansas State Police report identified the driver as Ricky Rutherford, 57.
Rutherford was thrown from his Chevy Blazer as it left the road, went airborne over a creek and overturned, the report said.
The wreck happened shortly after 9 p.m. about 2 miles north of Bald Knob. Rutherford was initially taken to Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy, according to the report.
Police said the weather was clear at the time of the crash, though the road was reportedly wet.
It was the 26th fatal wreck on Arkansas roads in 2016, according to preliminary records.
