Arlington (Texas) Lamar High wide receiver Kofi Boateng committed to Arkansas in August.

Receiver Kofi Boateng, an Arkansas commitment, witnessed a very tight-knit bond within the team during his official visit over the weekend.

"Just knowing I have got a band of brothers behind me now reassures me even more," said Boateng, who was hosted by tight end Anthony Antwine.

Boateng, 6-1, 180, 4.6 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Arlington, (Texas) Lamar recorded 46 receptions for 782 yards and 11 touchdowns this past season.

With Keon Hatcher coming back next season and the addition of him and Jordan Jones and others in the 2016 class, Boateng sees the receiver position being loaded.

"The group that is coming back at wide receiver is a very strong group," Boateng said. "That will help us in the passing game very, very much with our running backs.”

"We will have Keon back and he was such a key part of the offense last year. He had that bad injury and now that he's coming back and we have more receivers coming back it's good for the future."

As a junior, Boateng had 66 receptions for 1.023 yards and 15 touchdowns. He runs a leg on the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x200 and has a best of 14.68 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network rates Boateng a four-star prospect.

“He’s a very physical 180 pounder, he’s quick off he line of scrimmage and a solid route runner,” Lemming said. “He’s definitely a vertical threat and he has soft hands and he shows big play capabilities. Kofi can create in the open field.”

He used the weekend visit as an opportunity to recruit others to Fayetteville.

"I spent time with Brandon Jones and Kristian Fulton," Boateng said. "We told them we're trying to change the culture here.”
