Arkansas impressed 2018 LB Markus Martin.

Junior linebacker Markus Martin has been to a lot of college campuses and Arkansas was one of the latest ones.

“Any SEC school you can name, I’ve been there,” Martin said.

He and several teammates from Baton Rouge, (La.) Southern University Lab took part in Arkansas’ three-day camp on June 19-21.

“Of all the campuses I’ve been to, Arkansas has some of the best facilities,” Martin said. “I’ve never seen a practice field on top of a garage.”

Martin, 6-1, 221 pounds has scholarship offers from Kansas and Kentucky Christian Christian while drawing interest from Arkansas and numerous other schools. He enjoyed the interaction with the Razorback coaches.

“Arkansas is a great university,” Martin said. “I learned a lot from a lot of coaches. Just helping me get better with my technique with the way I play the game and think smarter as a player.”

He recorded 59 tackles and 5 sacks for the Kittens as a sophomore. Martin picked up several tips from linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves.

“I learned how to get in a better stance,” he said. “I learned to use my hands more. I learned how to read the guard key and I learned my drops.”
