Arkansas teen killed, man injured in three-vehicle crash

A three-vehicle accident left a teenager dead and another person injured in West Memphis on Thursday night, according to Arkansas State Police.

In a preliminary report, police said the accident occurred around 6 p.m. when Brent M. Price, 19, was attempting to make a left turn at South Worthington Drive onto Missouri Street in a 1995 Toyota Corolla.

While turning onto Missouri Street, the Toyota struck a southbound 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. The impact caused Price’s vehicle to then move into northbound traffic and strike a 2006 Cadillac Escalade, according to authorities.

Price was killed in the crash while the driver of the Mercury, 29-year-old Demarkus Watkins of West Memphis, was inured, state police said.

The driver of the Cadillac was not injured.

Travel conditions at the time of the crash were described in the report as clear and dry.

Price’s death was the 260th reported on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary state police figures.
