Former Arkansas sprinter Veronica Campbell-Brown took fourth in the 100 meters in 11.10 seconds Friday night at the Jamaican Senior National Championships in Kingston.

Campbell-Brown, attempting to run in her fifth Olympics, didn’t qualify in the 100 by taking one of the top three spots, but can still make the Jamaican team in the 200 — her best event — and possibly could be included in the group of sprinters for the 400 relay. She will run in the 200 semifinals tonight. The final is Sunday night.

Campbell-Brown, 34, has won seven Olympic medals, including two gold medals in the 200, while competing in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012. She was a four-time All-American for the Razorbacks in 2004, including winning the 200 indoor national title. She is married to former Razorback sprinter Omar Brown.

Kemoy Campbell, a five-time All-American for the Razorbacks who completed his eligibility in 2015, won the 5,000 at the Jamaican Championships Friday night in 13:43.21. He still needs to meet the Olympic qualifying standard of 13:25 this year.

Former Razorbacks Taylor Ellis-Watson and Chrishuna Williams got off to good starts at the U.S. Olympic Trials Friday night in Eugene, Ore., as both automatically advanced out of their first-round races.

Ellis-Watson, an 11-time All-American who completed her eligibility this year by helping the Razorbacks win the NCAA Outdoor title in Eugene, ran 51.54 to take second in her 400 heat.

Williams, a 10-time All-American who completed her Arkansas eligibility in 2015, won her 800 heat in 2:03.18.

Ellis-Watson and Williams both will run in the semifinal races today.

Former Razorbacks competing in men’s events today are Jarrion Lawson in the 100 and long jump and Tyson Gay in the 100. Kenzo Cotton, a sophomore for the Razorbacks this year, is running in the 100.

Jeff Henderson, from Sylvan Hills, will compete in the long jump.
