Kevin Duck -- charged in the 2011 death of his girlfriend, Dawna Natzke -- was set to go on trial Aug. 15-19 on a charge of first-degree murder.

Duck's attorneys, T. Clay Janske and Brian Johnson requested the delay Wednesday because a warrant would be required to collect more evidence in the case so a defense expert witness could make an analysis.

On Thursday, Circuit Judge John Homer Wright approved the request and set new dates for the case.

A pretrial hearing is now set for 8 a.m. Oct. 3, with the trial scheduled for Oct. 18-21 at the Garland County Circuit Court building in Hot Springs.

Natzke, 46, was with Duck the last time she was seen alive at a Dec. 21, 2011, Christmas party in Hot Springs Village. Her body was found 10 days after she disappeared. An autopsy showed that she died from drowning and blunt-force trauma.
