22-year-old sought in Arkansan's fatal shooting surrenders, police say

A 22-year-old man sought in the slaying of a Hope resident late last month has surrendered to Hempstead County deputies, according to police.

Courvoisier Trotter was wanted on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Tommy Hamilton Jr., 24.

Hamilton was found about 4:30 p.m. June 23 with a gunshot wound in his chest lying in a yard in the 600 block of North Walker Street, Arkansas Online previously reported. He later died at a local hospital.

Trotter was being held at the Hempstead County jail as of Wednesday evening and is awaiting a first court appearance.
