Teen missing after leaving Arkansas theme park found alive in Texas

A Hot Springs teenager who went missing after leaving the Magic Springs amusement park around 2:30 p.m. Saturday has been found alive in Texas, according to authorities.

The Garland County sheriff's office said Courtney Smith, 16, was found at a Waco, Texas, hotel with a man she was believed to be in the company of: 33-year-old Quinton Hadsell.

Hadsell has been taken into custody by Waco police on a felony charge of trafficking of persons, according to a news release. Arrangements are being made to bring Smith home to Arkansas.

Smith was found based on anonymous tips as part of a joint operation with the sheriff's office, Hot Springs Police Department, Waco Police Department, Arkansas State Police and FBI, according to the sheriff's office.
