Police found Thompson shot in the stomach early May 10 at Westwood Apartments at 41 Nandina Circle. Thompson was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock, where he died from his injuries.

Thompson's brother, Antonio DeWayne Bland, 31, was also shot at the apartment complex. Bland was critically injured but survived.

Foley, also known as "Kaydee," faces first-degree battery in the shooting of Bland. Police arrested Foley about 10:15 p.m. Monday at Autumn Park Apartments at 43 Warren Drive.

According to a court affidavit, investigators connected Foley to the shooting through witnesses at the apartment complex and physical evidence. One witness told investigators Thompson and Bland had been hanging out in an apartment for several hours when the brothers, who resided in Jacksonville, went outside about 3 a.m. to talk to someone.

The witness, a woman who was not identified in the court filing, said she heard an argument and several gunshots. Thompson then banged on the door and told her to call the police, according to the affidavit.

The witness told police Thompson and Bland appeared to have been talking to a neighbor and the neighbor's boyfriend, who she described as black man in his 20s with gold teeth.

Police identified the neighbor as Jayna Hammonds. She reportedly told investigators that her boyfriend, Kaydee, had been in a "scuffle" with Thompson after Thompson showed up at her apartment, asked to use her phone, knocked on her door repeatedly and began "rambling and saying things that didn't make sense."

"She looked out the front door and saw Mario on top of Kaydee who was on the ground and then she heard a shot," police detective Steve Moore wrote in the court filing. "She saw another black male standing behind them and after the shot he fell and said he was shot. She ran back inside her apartment and heard another shot."

Officers reportedly found three .45-caliber shell casings at the scene.

Another witness at the apartment complex saw a maroon Cadillac fleeing the shooting, the affidavit states. Investigators reportedly found a vehicle matching that description, a maroon 1991 Cadillac Brougham, at the home of another of Foley's girlfriends, Karrietta Frazier. She told police she loaned the vehicle to Foley the previous night and hadn't seen him since then.

Police said two additional .45-caliber shell casings were found "sitting on top" of the vehicle. Inside the car, officers reportedly found a gold-plated mouthpiece and a wallet containing Foley's ID.

Moore wrote in the affidavit that one of the witnesses had identified Foley in a police photo lineup, but Bland, who was hospitalized for several weeks, had not.

"At this point he has had difficulty recalling what happened on the night of the shooting," Moore wrote.

Thompson's death was the 11th homicide of the year in Little Rock. He had five children.

Court records show Foley has no prior adult criminal history. He was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Wednesday. His first court appearance in the case was scheduled for this morning.
