Police identify intruder killed in struggle inside Arkansas apartment

Authorities say they have identified the intruder killed during a struggle inside a Pine Bluff apartment this week.

The Pine Bluff Police Department said in a news release that Lorenda Crutchfield, 35, was fatally shot Tuesday night at an apartment in the 1100 block of 36th Street. His identity was reportedly confirmed through fingerprint analysis at the state Crime Laboratory.

Authorities said Crutchfield was one of three people who broke into the home. A struggle ensued between Crutchfield and the resident, police said, during which both men were shot.

Crutchfield died from his injuries while the resident's wounds were described as minor.

Investigators say they have no information on the other two intruders, who reportedly fled from the scene.
