WHAT: Skippy P.B. Bites
STATS: Vary by flavor. A serving size (12 pieces) of the Granola variety, for example, contain 150 calories and 9 fat, 12 carbohydrate, 0 fiber, 9 sugar and 5 protein grams. Sold in 6-ounces packages. We found them in the peanut butter aisle at Wal-Mart, 700 Bowman Road, Little Rock.
THE SKINNY: Skippy P.B. Bites resemble BBs -- little pellets of peanut-butter-cloaked goodness.
Three of the four flavors of the "portable, popable" peanut butter snacks we tried have crunchy centers (Graham Cracker, Granola, Pretzel). One has a soft center (the Double Peanut Butter has more P.B. on the inside). All contain 5 grams of protein per serving.
Now about servings. They vary by flavor. A serving can be 10 to 15 Bites, so make sure to check labels closely.
We'd say these Bites would be fun for kids, but the website notes: "Choking Hazard. Not for children under 3 years. Supervise children under 6 years."
Supervise weight-watching adults too, because P.B. Bites are hard to put down.
