Officers responded at 12:17 a.m. to the 2400 block of South Elm Street, a residential area north of Asher Avenue in the southwest part of the city. They found Mikhal Dalove Bailey, 22, of Little Rock dead in a ditch. He had been shot.

Police said a motorcycle reported stolen in Pulaski County in February was found next to Bailey's body.

Police spokesman Lt. Steve McClanahan said circumstances of the slaying remained unclear Monday afternoon. He said investigators hadn't found a witness to the killing.

Bailey's death is the 18th homicide of the year in Little Rock.

An investigation was ongoing.
