Bomb found in car disarmed in Cabot

An explosive device found Tuesday evening inside a car in Cabot was defused by the Little Rock bomb squad, police said.

Cabot police were called to a family disturbance on Pheasant Run Drive a little before 6 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Tommy Thompson with the Cabot Police Department.

He said 10 to 12 homes were evacuated while the bomb squad worked to defuse the device. Residents were allowed back in the homes around 10 p.m.

Thompson said police had detained several people of interest, but did not give any further details on why the people were detained, what type of device was found and how police were made aware of the device.

More details will be released today, Thompson said.
