A head-on crash in Royal left one person dead and two others injured Tuesday, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
Teresa Yates, 49, of Royal was driving west on U.S. 70 at 5:05 p.m. when she lost control of her 2009 Toyota and crossed the centerline, crashing head-on into a 2005 Dodge, police said.
The Dodge's driver, Jacob Rounsaville, 23, of Royal, attempted to avoid the crash, but was still struck head-on, police said. Yates was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Rounsaville and Shelby Willingham, 24, who was riding in the Dodge, were injured, according to the report.
Police said the weather was clear and the road was dry.
