Sheriff's office: Man injured in shooting south of Little Rock

The Pulaski County sheriff’s office is investigating a shooting that injured a man in the southern part of the county Friday morning.

Capt. Carl Minden, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said the shooting will be sent to the county prosecutor for review and a decision on whether to pursue criminal charges. The victim was shot through his leg during a dispute in the 5200 block of Southern Belle Drive, he said.

“It could be criminal; it could be self-defense,” said Minden, who added that a report on the incident hadn’t been written yet.

Shortly after noon, the victim had returned to the address. Minden said the man then called authorities, saying people who were there at the time of the shooting had returned and were harassing him. Deputies again responded to the scene.

“Somehow, they all know each other,” Minden said, referring to the parties involved.
