Clarendon police officer shot at multiple times

Someone shot multiple times at a Clarendon police officer, hitting the officer's house Saturday morning, the Monroe County sheriff's office said.

The officer was unhurt.

Tiffany Coe, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, said the incident occurred before 7 a.m. at the house in Clarendon.

Sgt. Jared Jenkins of the sheriff's office said at least seven shots were fired at the officer, whose identity is not being released for safety reasons.

Coe said there was a reward for the capture and conviction of the shooter, and Jenkins said the shooter and motive were still unknown.

Jenkins said more information would be released later, likely on Monday.
