The Neighborhood Church in Bentonville, 2003 SW. Regional Airport Road, presents members of the church mission team to Guatemala speaking about their experiences from 5 to 7 p.m. July 31. The church will hold a worship service and “backyard games” at 9 a.m. Aug. 14 at the church’s new property site.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, 1101 W. Hudson Road, offers a free workshop, “Equipping to Share: Tough Questions,” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Participants will learn how to deal with objections to their Christian faith.

The church offers “Cave Quest” vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday. A meal is served at 5 p.m. The program is for children in preschool through sixth grade, and movies for adults will be offered during that time.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

The Jewish Studies Program at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville offers the Introduction to Jewish Languages class in the fall semester, taught by Jacob Adler, UA professor and rabbi of Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville. Students will learn the basics of biblical Hebrew, Mishnaic Hebrew, modern Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish.

The Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church in Lincoln, 310 Lincoln Ave., was honored during a service July 17 with an award by the Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense office. This is the highest award given by a state committee, honoring employers that make it easier for soldiers serving in the National Guard and Army Reserve units.

Capt. Christopher Gueydan nominated the church for this Freedom Award, saying the church provided tremendous support for his family during his deployment to Afghanistan. He is a member of the 528 Engineering Battalion.

First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, celebrates Christmas in July on Sunday. The 10:30 a.m. worship service features Christmas music, carols and the story of Jesus’ birth. Christmas cookies and treats will be served in the fellowship hall after the service. Members will bring gifts for the residents of the Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home in Little Rock.

REGION

The Arkansas Interfaith Conference of Churches and Synagogues plans a festival day to conclude its Choir Camp from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 30 at Subiaco Academy. The camp for children in third through 12th grades features classes in choral singing, handbells, liturgy, Broadway song and dance, history, poetry and art.

The festival begins at 9:40 a.m., with a bells and choral prelude to open Holy Eucharist in the Abbey church, followed by a potluck picnic on the grounds. A Broadway show begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Centenary Hall theater.
