Man faces charges after officer bitten

A 32-year-old man is accused of biting a North Little Rock officer on the hand and spitting in his face Thursday night, according to a police report.

Officers were called to 2001 Arkansas 161 to assist medical personnel with a person who was unresponsive, police said.

Police were helping get Courtney Laster of North Little Rock on a gurney when he bit an officer on his left hand, according to the report. Authorities told Laster to cooperate and relax, but then he spit in the same officer's face.

Laster was arrested at 8:30 p.m. and charged with aggravated assault, according to the report. He was listed on Pulaski County jail's inmate roster Friday night.
