A woman was robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning while walking on South Valentine Street in Little Rock, according to a police report.

Officers were called at 10:33 a.m. to 3517 W. 25th St., where Brenda McCarter, 55, told police she had just been robbed after she got off a bus, according to the report.

McCarter told police she was at Asher Avenue and South Valentine Street when she saw a four-door gold vehicle sitting at the intersection, according to the report. A woman inside asked her if she had a cigarette and McCarter told her no, according to the report.

As she continued walking, a man pulled out a long black pistol. He pointed it at McCarter and demanded her purse, she told police.

McCarter handed over the purse and the two drove off, heading east on Asher Avenue, the report said.

McCarter told police the vehicle had temporary tags, but said she was too scared to get the make and model of the vehicle.
