Highly-touted running back Chase Hayden has committed to Arkansas.

Hayden, 5-11, 185 pounds, 4.47 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Collierville (Tenn.) St. George's Independent School chose the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, Missouri, Florida, Michigan, South Carolina, Louisville and others. He named the Hogs his leader after he and his parents visited Fayetteville on June 23.

Hayden, who rushed for 2,625 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior, was one of the standouts at his position during The Opening, the summer event that features the top prospects in the nation at Nike Headquarters.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network rates Hayden a 4-star prospect. He is rated a 3-star prospect by ESPN.

Arkansas wanted to sign two running backs in the 2017 class. The Hogs also have the pledge of running back Maleek Williams, 5-11, 215, 4.42, of Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte.

Williams picked the Hogs over approximately 17 scholarship offers from schools like Illinois, North Carolina, Boston College, Kentucky, Tennessee and others.

Arkansas running backs coach Reggie Mitchell and defensive line coach Rory Segrest recruited Hayden.

The Hogs now have 17 commitments for the 2017 class.
