Hunter Tollett's creativity carried him a long ways during his time at Conway Christian High School.

This fall, Tollett is hoping to expand his prowess into writing science fiction.

"I've always enjoyed coming up with new ideas," Tollett said. "I found out that when I started writing that I was really good at it. ... I like science fiction but I realize it will take a lot of time and work to become established in that area. I'm fine with any other aspect of writing fiction."

Two of Tollett's essays have been published by both the 2014-2015 Association of Christian Schools and the 2015-2016 Parate Stilum compilations. He was also a two-year member of the Conway Christian Press Club.

Tollett plans to major in English at the University Central Arkansas' Honors College. Eventually, he wants to earn a master's degree in English.

"If I'm going to be a writer, I'm probably going to have to take a secondary job once I get out of college," Tollett said. "I'm going to minor in computer science and, hopefully, that will help with that problem."

Writing was not Tollett's only creative outlet. He also spent time in the choir -- something he has been involved with since the fifth grade -- played in the school's band and was the leader of the school's drumline for two years.

Tollett also competed for the Eagles' tennis team, concentrating on doubles.
