"Whenever I'm about to leave, someone will ask 'Are you coming back?' " McDonald said. "You get to know them and you want to continue the same relationships. ... You go there to give and help, but they have given me so much more than I could ever give to them. I come back more blessed every time. ... The people of Kenya are the sweetest people you'll ever meet."

This fall, McDonald plans to attend TCU where she will major in business.

"My mom has her own company," McDonald said. "I've watched her work hard and she's been successful. I want to do the same thing, but for a nonprofit organization. I'm more into the fundraising and the TCU business program I'm entering will help me get into that."

McDonald says she may eventually find herself in law school.

"I think I would love to have a job where I travel a lot," McDonald said. "I think I would love to have a job where I'm working out of the country or anywhere in the developing world."

Although she accomplished many goals during her time at Little Rock Christian, McDonald said she is more thankful than proud.

"I feel like I've been blessed and I have a lot of people to thank for that," McDonald said.
