Work on a section of Arkansas 201 in Baxter County will require a series of alternating lane closures on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.
Crews sealing the highway north from Mountain Home between Russell Lane and Baxter County Road 1428 will reduce traffic to one lane within the work zone from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, weather permitting.
The sealing work, formally known as bituminous surface treatment but often referred to as chip-seal using a liquid asphalt and pea gravel, is a proven method of sealing cracks and providing a durable wearing surface using local materials at an economical cost, according to the department.
