Authorities on Sunday found a body in the Arkansas River a few hundred feet down-current from the park where a swimmer vanished Saturday.
Lt. Ted Haase, a Pulaski County sheriff's spokesman, confirmed a body was found on the river's north side about 11 a.m. Sunday morning near the Fraternal Order of Police lodge in North Little Rock.
The sheriff's office and North Little Rock Fire Department began searching for a 19-year-old man who disappeared from Riverview Park in North Little Rock about 6 p.m. Saturday.
Haase declined to release the missing teen's name, and he said the body had not yet been identified Sunday afternoon.
Friends of the missing swimmer, however, identified him as Khalil Smith.
