The DoubleTree hotel in downtown Little Rock is planning a multimillion renovation that will include an overhauled lobby, lounge and restaurant, the company that manages the property said Tuesday.
The Waterford Hotel Group said in a statement that improvements to the 288-room hotel next to the Robinson Center had already begun. The work is expected to be completed sometime this fall.
A spokesman declined to provide the total cost of the project. The statement described it as a "multimillion dollar revitalization."
According to the statement, the renovation will include a new market and breakfast bar in the lobby, a redesigned bar connected to a lounge and a "completely transformed" restaurant that will "focus on local and regional fare."
Guest rooms will also receive a series of upgrades, including larger beds and other new furniture and decor.
Lisa Beers, a spokesman for Waterford, said the hotel would remain open during the work.
