Arkansas man arrested in shooting at police officer's home

Monroe County deputies have arrested a Clarendon man in connection with the Saturday shooting at a Clarendon police officer's home.

Deputies arrested 23-year-old Grant Caldwell of Clarendon on Monday night, said Courtney Mason, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office. He was charged with four counts of aggravated assault and four counts of terrorist acts. Police said he fired multiple shots at the officer, hitting the officer’s home.

In a Facebook post, the department said the officer was getting home from work when the shooting began.

Caldwell and the officer had encountered each other multiple times before the shooting, Mason said.

Caldwell is being held at the Monroe County jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
