Pedestrian felled with rock, robbed in North Little Rock; teen arrested

A North Little Rock teen was arrested Monday night after another teen told police he was walking home from the library when he was hit in the face with a thrown rock and then robbed of $40, according to a police report.

LaDetrick Harris faces a felony aggravated robbery charge, according to a North Little Rock police arrest report.

The victim, who goes to school with Harris, told police he was in the 3000 block of Pike Avenue when saw six or seven people behind him on bikes. He told police that when he turned around, Harris threw a rock that hit him in the face.

The victim fell to the ground and Harris began to kick him in the ribs, according to the report, while other people removed his shoes and backpack.

Harris took items out of the backpack, and the victim was able to get the bag back before running home.

Police arrested Harris later that night at his residence, 1510 Allen St. in North Little Rock, police said.

Police said an on-call prosecutor told them to charge Harris as an adult. He was listed on Pulaski County jail's inmate roster Tuesday night.
