Fulton County Fair Rodeo

SALEM — The Fulton County Fair Rodeo, produced by Hall Rodeo LLC, will continue at 8 p.m. Cline Hall is the Arkansas Cowboys Association Top Rodeo Producer and will have a fast-paced show for rodeo fans. Haphazardly Ever After

The Bats and the Bees

POWHATAN — Lake Charles State Park, 3705 Arkansas 25, will present the Bats and the Bees from 3-3:45 p.m. at the Nature Center. Bats and honey bees are an invaluable resource to Arkansans. Participants will discover the vast potential impacts of losing these animals on the ecosystem, economy and residents’ everyday lives, as well as finding out ways to aid in their continued survival. Nature Center Exploration

POWHATAN — Lake Charles State Park, 3705 Arkansas 25, will present Nature Center Exploration from 1-3 p.m. all three days at the Nature Center. Participants are invited to self-explore the Nature Center and learn about some of the unique wildlife in the area. The park interpreter will answer questions and give impromptu programs. Lake Cruise

POWHATAN — Lake Charles State Park, 3705 Arkansas 25, will have a Lake Cruise from 4-5 p.m. all three days, weather permitting. Participants will head out on the lake with the park interpreter to learn of the history and creation of the lake and discuss various wildlife in and around the lake. Attendees are encouraged to bring water and sunscreen/sun protection. Preregister at the Visitor’s Center, and meet at the Snapp Pier. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for youth ages 6 to 17. The 3C’s and 3R’s: Arkansas’ Venomous Snakes

POWHATAN — Lake Charles State Park, 3705 Arkansas 25, will present the 3C’s and 3R’s: Arkansas’ Venomous Snakes from 3-3:45 p.m. at the Nature Center. Not every snake in Arkansas is potentially dangerous. In fact, only six are venomous. Participants will find out easy ways to remember these snakes and to tell them and other snakes apart, a well as finding out about some of the other snakes in Arkansas that are beneficial but are often harmed because of mistaken identity. A Day of Caring

SEARCY — Unity Health will offer the 20th annual A Day of Caring from 9 a.m. to noon at Harding Academy High School, 1529 E. Park Ave. Free medical, dental and eye screenings will be provided, as well as haircuts, immunizations and Pap tests. Items such as school supplies, groceries, Bibles, children’s socks and shoes, underwear, diapers and personal-care products will be distributed, and social-service information will be provided. Vacation Bible School

Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches Barn-Raising Campaign

BATESVILLE — One aspect that makes the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches’ program unique in Arkansas is the fact that involves a real working ranch. The boys and girls who call the ranches’ campus in Batesville home are helping raise a registered Hereford beef herd. The ranches’ cattle program has an urgent need for a new hay barn. Ozarka College-Ash Flat EMT Program

ASH FLAT — Ozarka College in Ash Flat will begin offering courses for its Emergency Medical Technician Program in the fall semester. Classes will meet from 5-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Aug. 16. Additional clinical hours will be required. The instructor will be Andy Schisler, longtime employee and paramedic for Spring River Ambulance of Cherokee Village. Cabot Lions Club Meetings

CABOT — The Cabot Lions Club has regular get-togethers at noon the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Kingpin Sports Grill. Lions serve local communities and protect the planet. Club members provide children with eyeglasses, offer food for seniors and are among the first to respond when disaster strikes. All are invited to attend the meetings.

Book Arts and Printmaking

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Arkansas Craft School will offer Book Arts and Printmaking with Mountain View artist Linda Rawlings on Aug. 5-7. Clothing Drive Challenge

CABOT — The Cabot Lions Club will have a Clothing Drive Challenge from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 6 to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Open Arms Shelter. BATESVILLE — The Course at Eagle Mountain Four-Person Scramble, sponsored by Citizens Bank, will take place Aug. 6 and 7. The entry fee is $560 per team. Arkansas Constitutional Tea Party Meeting

CABOT — The Arkansas Constitutional Tea Party will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Days Inn & Suites, 1302 Locust St. The guest speaker will be Mark Thomas, the owner of Mark Thomas Financial, who will talk about the differences between the U.S. presidential candidates’ tax proposals. Cheeseburger in Paradise Fundraiser

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Community Education Center’s annual benefit dance, Cheeseburger in Paradise, will take place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Fairfield Bay Conference Center. Tickets are $20 in advance at the Education Center or the Conference Center, or from committee members, or $25 at the door; 50/50 raffle tickets are $5 each. Golf Tournament

HEBER SPRINGS — The Rotary Club of Heber Springs will host its annual Scholarship Four-Person-Scramble Golf Tournament on Sept. 9 at the Red Apple Inn and Country Club. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by play at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. There will be prizes for closest to the hole on all par 3s. Funds raised will provide scholarships to 2017 graduating seniors. The Rotary Club provided $17,000 to last year’s graduates and has committed to give $14,000 this year.
