MUSIC SCENE: Little Rock Metroplex goes country with show by Deana Carter

Country singer Deana Carter, plus opening acts Bailey Hefley and Ashley McBryde, will perform at 7:30 p.m. today at the Metroplex in Little Rock. Tickets are $25.

Carter, 50, first garnered attention with a 1996 debut album, Did I Shave My Legs for This? The album sold more than 5 million copies and had three No. 1 singles: "Strawberry Wine," "We Danced Anyway" and "How Do I Get There."

She released her seventh studio album, Southern Way of Life, in 2013.

The Lacs will perform at 9 p.m. today at the Rev Room in Little Rock. Admission is $18.

The Lacs is a duo -- Clay Sharpe and Brian King -- who perform a combination of Southern rock and Southern rap. Founded in Baxley, Ga., The Lacs have released seven albums since debuting in 2011 with Might as Well Get Drunk, which was followed by South on Fire, Lacology, Country Boy's Paradise, 190 Proof, Keep It Redneck, Nothing in Particular and Outlaw in Me.

The albums -- the most recent four of which have hit the Billboard country albums chart -- have featured duets with Colt Ford, Big & Rich, Bubba Sparxxx, J.J. Lawhorn, Josh Thompson and Craig Campbell.

Tragikly White will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is $10.

The Schwag will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 the day of the show.

The Schwag is a St. Louis-based Grateful Dead tribute band. Formed in 1991, the group has performed more than 3,000 shows.

The Wiz Revised will be presented twice on Sunday, at 5 and 8:30 p.m. Tickets to the early show range from $5 to $20 and tickets to the late show range from $10 to $20.

Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack in Little Rock. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 the day of the show.

Ickes, a dobro player, and Hensley, a singer/guitarist, released their debut album, Before the Sun Goes Down, in 2014, and recently released The Country Blues. Ickes is also a member of bluegrass band Blue Highway and Hensley is an acclaimed young country performer.
