Police: One killed, one hurt in collision after vehicle crosses centerline of U.S. 70

A Bonnerdale man died in a wreck in Garland County on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Arlis Fisher, 65, was driving west on U.S. 70 west of Pearcy Road at 12:30 p.m., Arkansas State Police said. According to a crash report, a 2010 Chevrolet driven by Jared Warford was traveling east on the highway when it crossed the centerline and hit Fisher's 2003 Ford.

Authorities pronounced Fisher dead at the scene. Warford, 24, of Benton was taken to CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Police listed conditions at the time of the wreck as clear and dry.

Fisher's death was the 295th fatality on Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
