Weapon risk draws team in on Little Rock arrest

The Little Rock police tactical team was called to a domestic disturbance Thursday afternoon after other officers could not tell whether a 48-year-old father had weapons in a house, police said.

The scene ended when Keith King of Little Rock surrendered to police and was arrested at 4600 Princeton Drive around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, police said. He was later charged with third-degree domestic battery, according to a police report.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at the house at around 1:35 p.m. Thursday, said spokesman officer Richard Hilgeman. Officers were told that three children had left the house and a fourth was still inside, Hilgeman said. He said King was intoxicated and made violent threats toward the children.

He said officers were unsure of whether there were weapons in the house, so a sergeant on scene called the tactical team. At the scene Thursday afternoon, Hilgeman said he was not sure whether there were weapons inside the house.

King was listed on Pulaski County jail's inmate roster Thursday night.
