Power turned back on for almost all in west Little Rock

5:05 p.m. Update:

According to the Entergy Arkansas outage map, the power has almost completely returned to residents in west Little Rock. The map indicated that the more than 5,000 who went without lights for parts of Saturday afternoon could now turn them back on.

As of 5:05 p.m., Entergy only listed 94 outages, all located near Reservoir Park. Entergy estimated those customers would have their electricity back by 8 p.m.

Entergy Arkansas reported more than 5,000 outages in west Little Rock on Saturday afternoon.

From its Twitter account, the company said damaged equipment at one of its substations caused the outage, which runs west along Cantrell Road from Reservoir Road to a little past Bella Rosa Drive. According to the Entergy outage map, 5,400 people were without power as of 3 p.m.

On the outage map, Entergy said the majority of the power would be back on by 6 p.m. The company added that its crews are investigating what caused the outage and that some customers might not have their power back until after crews evaluate the cause and the damage's extent.
