• Outfielder Forrestt Allday (Central Arkansas) was placed on the disabled list Thursday by the Arkansas Travelers (AA Angels) with a hamstring injury. Allday last played for the Travs on July 20 in Springfield, Mo., when he went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored in a 4-1 victory against the Springfield Cardinals (AA Cardinals). Radio broadcaster and media relations director Robbie Aaron said Allday is at the Angels' spring training facility in Tempe, Ariz., and did not know when he might return.

• Pitcher Andy Ferguson (Arkansas State/Benton) was promoted to the High-A Wilmington (Del.) Blue Rocks from the Kansas City Royals' rookie team in the Arizona League on July 23. He promptly lost his first start for the Blue Rocks that night in a 9-0 loss to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (High-A Cubs). Ferguson went 22/3 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 3 hits with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. He settled down in his second start Thursday, allowing just 2 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts in the Blue Rocks' 2-0 loss to the Frederick Keys (High-A Orioles).

• Catcher Stuart Levy (Arkansas State) was promoted to the Class A Delmarva Shorebirds from short-A Aberdeen by the Baltimore Orioles organization Thursday. Levy batted .206 in 22 games for Aberdeen with 7 RBI.

Baxendale (Razorbacks/Jacksonville) suffered his first blown save Monday as the Rochester Red Wings (AAA Twins) lost 7-5 to the Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA Red Sox). Baxendale faced four batters and did not record an out, giving up 4 runs -- 2 earned -- on 3 hits. ... Reliever Blake Parker (Razorbacks/Fayetteville) has earned saves in each of his past 3 appearances for the Tacoma Rainiers (AAA Mariners).
