Man says stranger came up, shot him outside Little Rock home

Little Rock police were investigating a shooting Saturday that sent a 24-year-old man to the hospital, according to a police report.

Police were called at 3:39 p.m. to the emergency room at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences on Saturday afternoon, where shooting victim Patrick Patton, of Little Rock, received treatment for a wound on an arm.

Patton told police that he and his friends were in the front yard of his residence, 7800 Woodhaven, when an unknown man walking nearby approached them. He told police the man looked angry and pointed a black revolver at him and his friends.

As Patton and his friends ran in different directions, he was hit by a bullet and then jumped a fence, Patton told police. According to the report, the suspect is a black man with a medium build.
