Because his game was postponed a day later due to weather, sophomore safety Brian Williams had to watch his brother, running back Rawleigh Williams III and Arkansas play Auburn in October on TV.

Rawleigh suffered a frightening neck injury late in the third quarter and laid on the ground for 11 minutes before being carted off the field and escorted to the hospital.

“I was at a friend’s watching and he got hurt,” Williams said. “It was difficult because that’s my brother and we’re really close. I was talking to my dad and mom and no one knew for sure what it was. It was crazy because my brother wouldn’t let anyone tell me what it really was until after my game, because he didn’t want it to affect me.”

Williams, 6-1, 190 pounds, of Dallas Bishop Dunne could make an argument for having the most scholarship offers of any 2019 prospect in the nation. He has 11 offers from schools like Southern Cal, UCLA, Texas A&M, Baylor, Auburn, Iowa and Missouri.

His brother has offered up some advice.

“To just keep working hard and stay humble never let it get to your head too much and always get better everyday,” Williams said.

Williams started every game for Bishop Dunne and recorded 45 tackles and 2 interceptions as a freshman.

“Starting as a freshman, that’s a big responsibility,” he said. “I have somethings I can improve on, but I feel like I did pretty well for a freshman.”

He planned to participate in Arkansas’ satellite camp at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas before it was cancelled. He’s hoping to attend a summer camp in Fayettevile.

“We really haven’t decided on which one I might attend,” Williams said. “We’re looking at it right now.”

Williams, who visited Texas A&M last Friday, would embrace an offer from the Hogs.

“It would be great,” Williams said. “My brother is there and he’s had success there. I already have ties there and it’s a great place and it’s a SEC program. It’s five hours away, but it’s not as far as other SEC programs.”
