Happily ever Arthur?

The setting is the perfect place for "happy ever-aftering," but the ending is anything but happy ever after as Benton's Royal Players stage Camelot (music by Frederick Loewe, book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, adapted from T.H. 'House' concert blues

Refused, renewed

"Delta des Refuses," an exhibition of works by more than 80 artists that were rejected by the juror of the Arkansas Arts Center's 58th annual Delta Exhibition, opening today, will be on display through July 17 in the gallery of the Thea Foundation, 401 Main St., North Little Rock. The Old State House Museum, 300 W. Markham St., Little Rock, marks Arkansas' 180th birthday this weekend with:

• A reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, part of 2nd Friday Art Night, featuring living history demonstrations providing a glimpse of what life was like in 1836 Arkansas, with music by the Creek Rocks with Cindy Woolf, food from Southern Gourmasian and craft beer from Stone's Throw Brewing for sale. Free ice cream from Loblolly Creamery. Admission is free.

• "The People Rule," 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, conveying visitors back to 1836 with a live-action, role-playing game. Each participant receives a packet containing a description of his or her family unit, job information, period "money" and vouchers for professional services while taking an active role in the political process and attempting to accomplish goals while being helped -- or hindered -- by living history interpreters. The event will also feature 1830s-era activities, including gambling, shopping, military drill, skilled and unskilled labor, music, period games and sports, plus political speeches and toasts, a caucus, a puppet show/play and a period dance. Friendly music-making

The 25 members of the 106th U.S. Army Ceremonial Band will join the North Little Rock Community Band for a concert titled Making Music With Our Friends, 7:30 p.m. Friday under the big canopy at Lakewood Village, on McCain Boulevard between North Hills Boulevard and McCain Mall, North Little Rock. The program will include music by Arkansas composers Harold Walters and J. Clifton Williams and works by Samuel Barber, David Holzinger and E.E. Bagley. Benton's Royal Players have changed the audition dates and one of the venues for You Can't Take It With You by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart -- now 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Royal Theatre, 111 S. Market St., Benton, and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the choir room of the nearby First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Market St., Benton. Director Frank O.
